We have two shallow lakes for you to safely learn the basics of paddling before venturing out on your own. The White Oak River runs through the campground making for a great place to camp and explore either the upper or lower portions of the "Wild and Scenic" White Oak River. One of only a handful of AA rated blackwater rivers rated by North Carolina Paddlers Guide, the White Oak is a must for the explorer. Ancient Bald Cyprus trees not far from our put-in will be featured in the Smithsonian Magazine later this year.
			"White Oak River Outfitters" offers kayak and canoe rentals, special guided trips, instructional classes and shuttle service. We provide paddles and (PFD's) with your rental. Guided trips and shuttle service, additional fees apply. Plan an overnite trip and let us handle the ground plans for you.
